One of the most important messages about the holidays is that it’s better to give than to receive.
With only a few days left until Christmas, there is still time! Here are a couple of ways you can give back to those in need before the holiday arrives:
From now until New Year’s Eve, the Sacramento Life Center is holding its annual Baby Basket Drive. As low-income moms are preparing to become new moms in the new year, you can help by donating to help provide a basket of necessities.
Each basket includes diapers, newborn clothes, formula, pacifiers and more. Gifts can be made in any increment and $50 buys one basket. You can donate at saclife.org.
The holidays can be very stressful time for those experiencing homelessness, and Loaves & Fishes is asking for your help. You can provide basic needs for men, women and children who might be homeless this holiday season.
General needs include: Sleeping Bags, Back Packs, Combs, Small Toiletries, Toothpaste, Coffee, Disposable Razors and more.
You can also donate adult necessities such as: Coats, Jackets, Gloves, Sweatshirts, Reading Glasses, Underwear and Socks.
Items that can help benefit children include: Gloves, Baby Wipes, Baby Bottles, Diapers, Healthy Snack Bars, Rain Coats and Underwear.
Donations can be dropped off Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. at their warehouse location.

In support of Blue Star Moms, Westfield Galleria at Roseville will be accepting non-perishable food items. These will be included in military care packages. The food drive will be taking place until December 31.
