In first performance ever, student with autism performs incredible National Anthem

The crowd went wild.

There was an incredible moment at a pep rally in the Phoenix area last week and it inspired everyone who has had the opportunity to see it.

Ridge, a student at Ironwood High School in Glendale, Arizona, stood in the spotlight for the first time. He stood ready, guitar and pick in hand.

It was a pep rally, but the room got very quiet. Ridge looked at a man in front of him, who had the camera rolling on what was going to happen next.

"Yeah, go ahead," the man said.

Ridge looked down at his guitar, and began to play the familiar notes. It was a popular song, and Ridge was playing it just like Jimi Hendrix played it at Woodstock in 1969.

Ridge was playing the Star Spangled Banner, but Ridge was playing it reverently, and attentively.

It wasn't just the rendition of the song that gave the room chills. Ridge has autism and it was the first time he ever performed on the guitar in public.

Ridge not only nailed it, but the crowd went wild.
