El Dorado County sheriff’s investigators are treating the death of a Georgetown man as a homicide after it was determined he was intentionally struck by another car.

Deputies were brought to Sliger Mine Road around 12:20 a.m. early Monday where they met with California Highway Patrol officers who were investigating a car accident at the same location. CHP found the accident and also located the body of 35-year-old Dennis Johns.

Officers determined the death to be an intentional act and began investigating it as a homicide.

Through the investigation, officers were led to Jacob Bohlen, 38, of Greenwood. Prior to Johns being hit, police said he had reportedly been in an earlier argument with Bohlen. Investigators said Johns was later intentionally hit by a car while standing outside of his car by Bohlen.

Bohlen was later arrested and charged with voluntary manslaughter, police said. He is being held at the El Dorado County Jail.
