A motorcyclist is dead after a crash Saturday afternoon.
The crash happened just before 3:30 p.m. on I-80 westbound.
According to CHP, the driver was traveling on the interstate when he suddenly veered into the right hand wall and crossed the freeway, hitting the center divider.
He was dead when emergency crews arrived.
Multiple lanes were closed for nearly 4 hours while crews worked the scene.
Police believe wind may have been a factor but the cause of the crash is under investigation.
