On Friday, Feb. 10, a train carrying 17 cars derailed in Elk Grove.
Over a month later, the derailed cars still sit on the side of the tracks.
The cars are located along Hwy. 99, near Dillard and Eschinger Roads. The train cars were carrying food ingredients such as flour, tomatoes and cheese.
The twisted metal and busted cargo span about 100 yards. So, what's taking so long to clean-up this derailment? With the ground still soft from weeks of constant rain, it is difficult to get heavy moving equipment to the area of the derailment.
