Sacramento County Sheriff's are searching for a Sacrament man who they believe shot and killed his ex-girlfriend the day before Thanksgiving.
According to a press release, Gildardo Llamas Ramos, 37, of Sacramento, is wanted in for the murder of Jessica Chavez, 28, of Antelope. Ramos was the estranged ex-boyfriend of the victim.
Just after 11 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23, the Sheriff’s department received several 911 calls regarding the sound of gunshots along the 4200 block of Hartlepool Way in Antelope. Deputies responded to the scene, and located the victim in the street suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim's roommate and close friend, Shay Danielle, is grieving her loss but said it came with warning. Ramos and Chavez dated for a little more than six months, Danielle said. She described Ramos as controlling and abusive.
"I've seen how he talks to her. He's threatened her," Danielle said.
Placer County Court documents revealed that Ramos is also facing domestic violence charges including assault with a firearm in another case. He was remanded in court on November 21 on $225,000 bond and bailed out the same day.
Deputies believe Chavez just got home when Ramos approached her and shot her. The sheriff's department believe he sped away in a dark colored SUV.
Ramos is to be considered armed and dangerous. Anybody who sees or knows the whereabouts of Ramos is asked to call 911 immediately.
