A fugitive who escaped a San Joaquin County Sheriff’s work crew on Nov. 27 was captured by the Stockton Police Department Thursday.
At approximately 10:30 a.m., the CDC Fugitive Task Force received information that fugitive Corey Hughes was at a residence in the 9000 block of Don Avenue.
Shortly after, Stockton Police Department officers arrived on scene and set up a perimeter. After knocking down the door because nobody answered, a Stockton Police K9 was used inside the residence and Hughes was taken into custody, the department said.
Hughes, who has a skull-tattooed face, was taken to a local hospital for treatment before being booked into the San Joaquin County Jail. He was originally in custody due to weapons charges.
