A man has been taken into custody after a woman was found dead in her room earlier Friday morning in Davis, according City of Davis Police.

Police responded at appropriately 9 a.m. to the Pacifico Cooperative Community at 1752 Drew Circle after the woman in her 30's was found dead in her room.

Officials then considered her death suspicious launching a homicide investigation where they took 52-year-old Davis resident Jonathan Paul Johnson into custody around 3 p.m on suspicion of homicide charges related to her death. He is said to be known by the deceased woman.

The investigation is still active and ongoing. The victim's name has yet to be released until the coroner can confirm.
