Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department said wanted-murder suspect Gildardo Llamas Ramos was found dead Friday night.

Spokesman Sergeant Tony Turnbull said Ramos had what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

Around 6:15 p.m. Friday, officers served a search warrant in the 3600 block of 43rd Street in Sacramento.

They found Ramos dead inside.

Turnbull said this is a tentative identification of Ramos and the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will make a final confirmation of identification through fingerprints.

The 37-year-old was wanted in the November 23, 2016, murder of 28-year-old Jessica Chavez of Antelope.

Friends of Chavez said the two had previously dated for six months.

Chavez was found just after 11 p.m. Wednesday with a gunshot wound to the head. Turnbull said she had just returned home and was shot once she got out of her car, which was parked on the street.
