'We love skating. It's a great activity.': Neighborhood feud persists over backyard skate ramp

Ken Hoyt, who owns the skateboard ramp, says he didn't hear complaints until the City got involved.

A battle between neighbors continues over a skateboard ramp in Riverbank.

One neighbor says the ramp overlooks his yard with a pool and is noisy.

Ken Hoyt, who owns it, says he didn't hear complaints until the City got involved. Hoyt built the neighborhood ramp as a way for his children to stay active outdoors.

"It's our passion," Hoyt said. "We love skating. It's a great activity."

However, the ramp was a talking point during a City Council meeting last week.

The meeting was regarding Hoyt building and selling ramps but also issues with noise and privacy complaints.

"He's never once come to me and made an issue about it," Hoyt said. "When I moved in, I made it clear if there was anything that he wanted to discuss with me to please come to me and I can do the same for him."

The neighbor didn't come up to the door, however other neighbors said the ramp hasn't been an issue.

"We don't hear that much noise, just like a little bit," said Sabi Caur, a neighbor.
