Indianapolis Colts long snapper Matt Overton, a former star player at Tracy High, will pay tribute to fallen Stanislaus County Sheriffs Deputy Dennis Wallace.

"I will wear these cleats on Thanksgiving night to honor Deputy Wallace & his family," Overton said on Facebook. The cleats are dated '11-13-16' -- when Wallace was shot and killed while on duty at Fox Grove Park in Hughson.

The NFL player is connected to the law enforcement community. In a May interview with ESPN, Overton said "being a cop is in my family's blood." His father served 31 years in law enforcement, retiring this year, and Overton himself plans to be a reserve officer once his NFL career ends.

"Thank you to all the men & women of our law enforcement who wear that badge for all the right reasons & for the daily sacrifices you make for us," Overton said.

Colts play the Pittsburgh Steelers at 5:30 p.m. on NBC Thanksgiving Day.
