An off-duty San Joaquin County Sheriff’s deputy shot and killed an attempted armed robber.
According to a press release from the Stockton Police Department, who are handling the case, just before 11 p.m. Monday, Nov. 1, the off-duty deputy was confronted by two armed suspects who were wearing masks.
The off-duty deputy fired his handgun, hitting one suspect. The other suspect fled the area on foot. First aid was given by medics, but the shot suspect was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The deceased suspect has been identified as Keenan Bradley, 21, of Stockton. A loaded 9mm handgun, which was reported stolen, was found at the scene.
This is an ongoing investigation.
