A man has been arrested for after touching a 7-year-old girl with his genitalia inside of a store in Fairfield.

The incident happened on Sept. 16 inside of store in the 3000 block of Travis Blvd.

The Fairfield Police Department received a call that a man had touched a girl inappropriately and fled the scene. When police arrived, they learned that a girl and her mother were shopping when a man approached behind the child and touched her with his genitalia.

The victim was able to describe the man and with assistance from store managers the suspect was identified as 26-year-old Vacaville resident Jacob Haynes.

The suspect was located on Oct. 18 at a home in Vacaville after a search by detectives in the Family Violence Unit and Solano County Sheriff's Enforcement Team.

Haynes was taken into custody and booked into the Solano County Jail on charges of lewd acts against a minor under 14 years old.

Though there haven't been other reports on Haynes victimizing other children, police urge residents to be aware of their surroundings for their own safety.
