Suspects plastered several anti-Semitic and threatening messages on the campus of a Synagogue in Orangevale early Saturday morning, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department.
Sgt. Shaun Hampton with the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department said the acts at Temple Or Rishon are being investigated as a possible hate crime.
“Looking from the outside, nobody would know this building was a synagogue,” Hampton said. “This building was certainly targeted.”
Police say multiple suspects glued several posters on the outside of the Synagogue building and scaled a fence to paste posters on classroom doors.
One posters depicts the teen convicted of and sentenced to death for murdering nine people during a prayer service at a South Carolina church along with the text: “Dylan Roof did nothing wrong.”
The President of the Temple Or Rishon, Kimberly Olker, is appalled and frightened by the acts.
“It’s hard for me to even fathom that somebody would think this way,” Olker said.
Other hateful messages depict a cartoon drawing of Jewish Hollywood movie producer Harvey Weinstein groping a woman.
“Yikes! Hitler, Rockwell, and Pierce warned you about sleazy Hollywood kik**,” that poster reads.
A third variation depicts an offensive cartoon drawing of a Jewish man along with the text “Daily Stormer.”
The Daily Stormer is a neo-Nazi website, according to the Southern Poverty Law Center, which tracks hate groups across America.
