A 19-year-old Roseville man was arrested Monday in connection with threats against a local high school student, according to the Roseville Police Department.

At approximately 12:15 p.m., the police department received information that a suspect had made threats via social media against an Adelante High School student. At the same time, the administration at Oakmont High School also received similar information about the threats against the Adelante student, officials said.

The investigation led officers to locate the suspect in a restaurant parking lot on Douglas Boulevard at Sierra College Boulevard in Roseville.

While taking the 19-year-old into custody, officers found an AR-15-type firearm in his vehicle. There are no other suspects related to the threat and no direct threats were made against the schools, police said.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
