Thinking about taking your drone to the park this holiday weekend? Leave it at home.
Sacramento County's Board of Supervisors formally approved a change at their meeting Tuesday adding drones to the list of "flying model airplanes" banned from county parks.
The county already enforces the ordinance, but adding drones was just meant to clean up the language, according to Head County Ranger Michael Doane.
He said the county has seen an increase in drones because it's come down in price. However, violating the ordinance is another story.
A first violation is a $50 fine followed by a $100 fine for a second violation.
Three or more violations will cost you a $250 fine for each additional violation.
The amended ordinance is already in effect.
