The Sacramento County Sheriff's Department is investigating a south Sacramento homicide that happened early Friday morning.

Deputies go to the scene at around 5:15 a.m., in the 4400 block of 37th Avenue, after calls of a stabbing. Upon arrival, they found a man inside the residence suffering from a stab wound. The 48-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses told deputies that the suspect and victim had an argument before the stabbing, but it's unknown what they were arguing over. A woman in the house with the victim was not hurt.

Deputies are searching for a 51-year-old Hispanic man, who they say knew the victim. The suspect possibly fled the scene on a bike.
