A child has been rescued and 31 people have been arrested in connection with a multi-jurisdictional prostitution operation in Sacramento County.

The two-day investigation took place in the north and south areas of Sacramento County and within the city limits of Rancho Cordova, according to Sacramento County sheriff’s officials.

Charges for the people arrested ranged from outstanding prostitution warrants, solicitation for prostitution, loitering for the purposes of engaging in prostitution and supervising or directing prostitution, officials said.

The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department partnered with investigators from the Sacramento Police Department, Sacramento County Probation Department, Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office and the United States Marshals Service.
