The Sacramento Police Department said former NFL player Syd'Quan Thompson was arrested on domestic violence charges.
The Sacramento-native, and brother of Carolina Panthers linebacker Shaq Thompson, was arrested in Sacramento County on Feb. 11 for domestic violence. He posted bail at $50,000 on Monday, Feb. 12.
He was drafted by the Denver Broncos in the seventh round of the 2010 NFL Draft. Thompson was on the roster from 2010-2012 until he suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon sidelining him for the entire 2011 season, and was eventually released by the Broncos in 2012.
Thompson went to Sacramento's Grant Union High School before attending the University of California, Berkeley.
