Levitating tractor art hovering in Sacramento

"Because I wanted it to be majestic and magical something to make it exotic in a way," Myers said.

The latest addition to Sacramento's growing art landscape is a 1952 tractor.

Yep, an homage to our region's rich agriculture history. Jeff Myers, the artist, had an idea to buy a old tractor and to levitate it. Why?

"Because I wanted it to be majestic and magical something to make it exotic in a way," Myers said.

The tractor sits like a welcoming sentinel at the west end of the new McKinley Village development. What you see on the old Ford is coated shiny metal art with photographic images of agriculture. Myers spent nearly four years researching the project, with an additional four months putting it together.

This isn't the only piece in McKinley Village. The neighborhood features the work of six local artists. Is there room for one more from Myers?

"I think it would be nice to dress a tank, to do a nice landscape over a machine that was built for something else," Myers said.

The Jeff Myers “tractor levitation” is located on McKinley Village Way, 3340 McKinley Village Way.
