A woman walking along train tracks somewhere between Davis and Sacramento was hit and killed by an Amtrak train traveling to Sacramento, officials report.
The train struck the woman sometime after 5 p.m. Sunday near Citrus and Elm streets less than a mile from Harbor Boulevard, according to West Sacramento police officials.
Train 734 was traveling from Oakland to Sacramento and will be delayed to its destination as local emergency responders investigate, police said.
No one onboard the train has reported injuries, said Amtrak spokesman Marc Magliari.
The train was scheduled to arrive in Sacramento just before 5 p.m.
It remains unclear when the train will arrive at its destination at this time.
