Sacramento Councilman Allen Warren faces a $1,002 fine stemming from his 2012 campaign for Sacramento City Council.

According to the state's Fair Political Practices Commission, Warren, his committee and treasurer Jim Lites failed to report occupation and employer information for contributions received from Jan. 1, 2012 through Sept. 30, 2012.

Warren, who represents District 2 and was elected to the council in 2012, said he was told back then that no further action was needed.

"It seems very unusual, this is not something that I know a lot about," he said. "This happened in 2012, my campaign guy didn’t even tell me about it."

Warren said he plans to pay the fine, if that's the protocol.

The commission is scheduled to meet March 16.
