Plenty of sunshine with temperatures trending cooler than yesterday. However, we're not out of the woods just yet, an approaching storm system will usher in another round of rain and snow tonight. Showers will start off rather spotty. A better chance for moderate to heavy showers arrives overnight into early Saturday morning.
For the Sierra, there's a Winter Storm Warning from 11pm tonight until 9am Sunday as heavy snow moves in tonight. We are looking at a foot or more over the passes tonight, with chain controls and delays possible. Light snow continues through the weekend down to about 3,000 feet. Travel is discouraged during this timeframe.
Next week is easier...warmer, with highs in the 70's!
