SUISUN CITY, Calif. (AP) — Authorities have arrested a 63-year-old Northern California man on suspicion of beating his daughter-in-law to death with a hammer.
The Los Angeles Times reported Wednesday that police say Amarjit Singh was taken into custody after he confessed to the killing. He now faces a murder charge.
Officers had responded to a Suisun City home Tuesday after a family member reported a possible dead body in the garage.
They arrived to find 29-year-old Shameena Bibi, who suffered blunt force trauma to the head.
Police say Bibi lived at the home with her husband, 2-year-old son, mother-in-law and Singh.
Her death remains under investigation by the Solano County District Attorney's Office and the FBI.
