A Stockton man has been charged with a number of serious sexual assault allegations, including attempted rape and indecent exposure, in separate incidents spanning a single Thursday morning.
Around 7:30 a.m. Thursday, police say Donald Kendrick, 47, arrived at Elkhorn Elementary School where, in front of school staff, he exposed himself and said he was a police officer.
Kendrick then drove to Wagner Holt Elementary and allegedly exposed himself again, this time in front of a woman. The man then allegedly got out of the car he was driving, approached the woman, tried dragging her to a driveway, all the while saying he was going to rape her, according to police.
The woman told police she was able to punch Kendrick and run away.
Police say Kendrick then drove to Wagner Heights Rehabilitation where, once again, he allegedly exposed himself to a woman.
When officers finally tracked down Kendrick, they say the suspect allegedly tried escaping in the car he was driving into a nearby neighborhood.
Kendrick allegedly dumped the car and proceeded to run away on foot, but was quickly detained by local residents of the area until police could place him under arrest.
Kendrick now faces charges, including attempted rape, indecent exposure and impersonating a peace officer.
