The step father of a 2-year-old Stockton boy who was killed on Oct. 7 turned himself in on Tuesday.

Donte Revels, 31 turned himself in at the Oakland Police Department and was arrested for felony child abuse and homicide.

Stockton police started their investigation on Oct. 11 when the department received a phone call from Pleasanton police, who began investigating the death of the boy on Oct. 8.

Family brought the child to a hospital on Oct. 7, according to Pleasanton police, and the child was later pronounced dead.

Police said the circumstances that lead to the boy's death happened in Oakland. When detectives began working with Oakland police, investigators were led to a home on Diamond Oaks Street in Stockton.
