A 16-year-old girl who was a victim of human trafficking for the past four years was found by authorities Friday as officials arrested and charged the man allegedly responsible for pimping the underaged teen, according to the Fairfield Police Department.
On Friday night, a patrol officer stopped to investigate what appeared to be a situation involving a prostitute in the 1400 block of W. Texas Street in Fairfield. The officer eventually learned that she was a 16-year-old runaway from Fresno and possibly a victim of human trafficking, police said.
The victim later admitted that she had been trafficked in Miami, Atlanta, Chicago, Las Vegas, Oakland, and San Jose over the past four years.
Following further investigation, detectives identified her current pimp and determined the two had been living at a residence in the 600 block of Utah Street. When they served a search warrant for the residence, detectives contacted Leshone Johnson, a 38-year-old Fairfield resident at the home. Johnson was identified as the male who had been pimping the underage victim, police said.
Johnson was later booked into Solano County Jail on several charges including pandering and pimping.
