Gabriel has been homeless in Vacaville for quite some time, according to police.

The Vacaville Police Department shared Gabriel's story. The department's Community Response Unit recently started working with Gabriel to try reuniting him with his family.

The Unit found his family in Hawaii and police said they very much wanted Gabriel home.

The police department made it happen, thanks to a grant from the Brendan-Mann Foundation.

Gabriel was able to get back to his family in Hawaii at no cost to the taxpayers in Vacaville, according to police. "In Hawaii, he has a place to live and a job working at the family coffee farm," the department said.

On Thursday morning, Gabriel boarded his flight home. Just in time for the holiday season!
