Drake made it clear he doesn't tolerate sexual harassment during a show Wednesday at Sydney's Marquee nightclub.
The rapper stopped performing right before the beat to "Know Yourself" dropped-- that's how you know it was serious.
Drake addressed a fan in the crowd who he saw groping women and threatened him saying,
"Yo, stop that s_t. If you don't stop touching girls, I'm gonna come out there and f_k you up," he said. "If you don't stop putting your hands on girls, I'm gonna come out there and "f_k you up."
The crowd cheered in response to Drake's words and while it's not confirmed whether or not the man was kicked out of the venue, the musician could be seen saying something into the crowd off the microphone.
It's also not clear if the fan Drake singled out is seen in the video but what's for certain is the praise the rapper has received since others posted the video on Instagram.
In my eyes though, a huge figure like Drake calling out assault is a positive thing that brings awareness of assault at shows.— captain cabinet (@KolbyAP) November 15, 2017
We need more men like Drake who will call out trash who objectify, harass and grope women.— Luke Waltham (@lukewaltham) November 16, 2017
Good! Men need to stand up, speak up, and stop harrassment.— James Verbicky (@JamesVerbicky) November 16, 2017
However, some people weren't buying Drake's actions.
Why do I feel there wasn't actually a groper in the audience but he was just sending out a message— Puntius Pirate (@IamBlahk) November 16, 2017
we live in cynical times — I really do hope this wasn't part of some staged PR stunt. That's how we're being conditioned to think, these days.— Alex Strachan (@astrachanphoto) November 16, 2017
Well intentioned but i guess nobody’s seen some of his videos ! The hypocrisy is stunning— Messenger of Fate (@GolfTrendz) November 16, 2017
But of course, his fans were quick to defend him.
Music and lyrics are for entertainment! That’s his JOB! But what @Drake did right here shows his character. Love me some Drake ❤️👍🏾— Joanyett Mays-Scott (@TheCurvyFitGirl) November 16, 2017
