AUSTIN -- Officials are responding to an explosion in southwest Austin, Austin-Travis County EMS reported.

Officials responded to 800 block of Dawn Song Drive, where two male patients in their 20s were transported to South Austin Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries.

Police ask anyone in the immediate area -- about a half-mile radius -- to wait in your homes until at least daylight and follow instructions from officers if and when given.

Police said they are also working to clear a backpack found in the area. They are asking anyone who sees a package to not even go near it and ask anyone who saw something suspicious to call 9-1-1 immediately.

ATCEMS said officials received "unconfirmed reports" at 4721 Eagle Feather Drive at 8:32 p.m., where six patients were reported "on the ground." An explosion or any patients there have not been confirmed.
