Angels Camp police arrested a man after finding a human skull in the trunk of a car Thursday night.
Police pulled over a vehicle around 11:30 p.m. for not stopping at the limit line of a stop sign. After approaching the car the officer noticed 41-year-old Joshua Davis, who had been seen driving earlier, sitting in the front passenger seat and asked him to identify himself. Davis refused.
The officer began searching the vehicle and found a recently unearthed human skull in a bag in the trunk and methamphetamine behind the fuel door of the car.
When asked about the skull, Davis invoked his Miranda rights and refused to explain how he got it.
Davis was arrested and charged with Violation of Probation, Driving on a Suspended License, H&S-Possession of Methamphetamine, and H&S-Disturbing or Removing Human Remains.
