Landale sets career marks in Saint Mary's win over Sac State

MORAGA, Calif. (AP) - Jock Landale set career highs with 37 points and 18 rebounds on Monday night and Saint Mary's beat Sacramento State 70-54 for the Gaels' second straight win.

Landale had 24 points and 12 rebounds and made 11 of 14 shots in the first half while Saint Mary's (7-2) built a 32-19 lead. The Gaels held the Hornets to 7-of-25 (28 percent) shooting and had a 25-11 edge on the glass in the period. Landale finished the game 14 of 20 from the field and 9 of 10 from the foul line.

Calvin Hermanson made a pair of 3s for Saint Mary's, passing Frank Allocco (197) for third in program history. The senior forward ended the night at 198 for his career with David Sivulich (238) and Matthew Dellavedova (288) still ahead of him. Hermanson finished with eight points.

Izayah Mauriohoohoo-Le'Afa led Sacramento State with 20 points and Justin Strings added 15.

The Hornets (1-7) pulled within 55-45 with six minutes to go but never got closer.
