He's got good size, he's a great athlete, he can go up and get it, and he's fast. With offers from some of the top college football programs in the country, including The University of Alabama, Inderkum High School's Isaah Crocker is one of the most talked-about athletes in the area.

"I'm just a loving kid and just a person that's trying to pursue their dreams like most kids," Crocker said. "But I'm not sure that most kids, you know, lost their mother. So I'm not just doing it for myself, I'm doing it for God and my mom."

Crocker's mother, January Keene, was a victim of gun violence in 2007.

"My mom passed with I was seven," Crocker explained. "That whole situation made me who I am today."

Although his mother was a big basketball fan, Crocker started pursuing football seriously in high school. The senior wide receiver spent three years on Inderkum's varsity football squad and helped the Tigers to an 11-1 record and a Sac-Joaquin Section playoff appearance this season.

"Knowing that she loved sports... I just had to follow that dream that I'm going to make it," Crocker said. "I also want to do things for my grandma, the things that my mom couldn't do for my grandma because she lost her daughter."

Whether it's praying for her before kickoff or getting a tattoo of his mother's name, the time of her death, and her favorite flower on his arm, Crocker carries his mother's memory with him.

"She pushes me every single day," Crocker said. "I believe in her and I believe in god so that's what pushes me."

Crocker is a leader on the field who hopes to continue helping other young people on their path once he gets to college. The four-star recruit has 14 offers including nine from Pac-12 schools (Arizona, Arizona State, California, Colorado, Oregon, Oregon State, USC, UCLA, Utah) and Notre Dame. The senior tells ABC10 he plans on announcing his decision sometime in early 2018.

Isaah Crocker is turning tragedy into a testimony and his late mother is his main motivation.

"Honestly she would just be proud of me," Crocker said. "Her baby's going to try to make it out so that's what I've been trying to do."
