Golden State Warriors defeated the San Antonio Spurs, 113-92 to take a 1-0 series lead in the first round of the Western Conference Playoffs.

The Saturday afternoon game was the 2018 NBA Playoffs opener and from tip-off it was all Golden State.

There was no answer for Kevin Durant whose all-around game was on full display. Durant scored 24 points (9-17 FG, 5-5 FT), eight rebounds, seven assists and two steals.

Rudy Gay led the Spurs in scoring with 15 points and six rebounds off the bench, while All-Star Lamarcus Aldridge added 14 points. Both shot 5-12 from the field.

Spurs' notable star Kawhi Leonard, who hasn't played since Jan. 13., was ruled out for Game 1, according to the team's Twitter account.

However, Warriors were without two-time MVP Stephen Curry, who suffered an MCL sprain and has been out since March 23. Head Coach Steve Kerr has said that Curry will not play during the first round as rehab progresses.

In Curry's absence, Klay Thompson was red-hot scoring 27 points (11-13 FG, 5-6 3P) for the Warriors and Draymond Green nearly had a triple-double with 12 points, 11 assists and eight rebounds.

The team shot 54 percent from the field, but their defense was even better stifling the Spurs to 40 percent shooting.
