Kermit vies for 'Mutant Ninja Muppet' role

Kermit the Frog might be the proud leader of the Muppets, but it doesn't mean he can't look at other action roles.

The A-list frog is clearly eyeing a role in a Teenage Mutant Ninja Muppet spin-off. Kermit discussed the possibility during a visit to USA TODAY's Los Angeles office to promote the Blu-Ray/DVD of Muppets Most Wanted.

"We could have done that," Kermit said of the Ninja Turtle/Muppet role. "We (frogs) are more defenseless since we don't have a shell. But I do a pretty good turtle impression."

The shell-less star then proceeded to give his best audition. Michael Bay take note.

Kermit also discussed some steamy moments onset of Most Wanted with co-star Tina Fey, even in front of longtime girlfriend Miss Piggy. The DVD extras show one deleted scene -- Fey kissing Kermit onset.

"There was some tension. Miss Piggy was not happy when Tina kissed me or when she licked me. There was a scene in the movie where she licked me," says Kermit. "It was purely innocent. We did a closed set. We all wore robes until the last second. It was fine. And Tina's husband was there."

Kermit did admit that Miss Piggy was not happy about the scene.

Kermit also squashed rumors that he was dating the green-skinned Gamora fromGuardians of the Galaxy.

"You know how rumors get started," says Kermit. "She is very attractive. She makes being green easy."
