CHICAGO - Kraft Heinz has issued a voluntary recall on approximately 500 cases of gravy due to possible mislabeling.
The release on the Food and Drug Administration’s website states the recall is for cases of Heinz HomeStyle Bistro Au Jus Gravy that may be mislabeled as Heinz Pork Gravy. The bad labels do not state the gravy contains milk and soy, two ingredients that can cause serious reactions in people allergic to them. Kraft Heinz said it has not received any reports of illness related to the recalled gravy.
The recalled 12-ounce jars have a Best By date of 12/28/2017 and manufacturing code of MU6F04 4Q followed by a time stamp.
Kraft Heinz said no “other sizes, varieties or code dates of Heinz Gravy are included” in the recall. Customers who purchased the defective product are advised to return it to the point of purchase for a refund. Those with questions can contact Kraft Heinz at 1-866-572-3808, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET.
