#mysacramento campaign seeks public input

SACRAMENTO -- The City of Sacramento is soliciting residents in their latest marketing campaign.

The City is asking the community to use the phrase #MySacramento when posting photos on social media accounts. The goal is to utilize the community to visually catalog the region and all the great happenings here. All of the photos will then be used to gain perspective for the tourism industry on why the people who live here, love this place so much.

If you're out eating dinner, visiting parks and rivers, going to a game or visiting the zoo, the City wants you to post a photo using #MySacramento.

"Like they say, a picture says 1,000 words and we think that is really the case here in Sacramento. There's a lot of great things to photograph here in Sacramento. There's a lot of great quality of life features here in Sacramento from the more than 200 parks. We want to capture all those experiences and using social media is just an awesome way to do that," City of Sacramento Spokesperson, Maurice Chaney explained.

As of Wednesday, more than 1000 Instagram users had already used the hash-tag to help promote the City, posting photos of their favorite places.

The campaign competition ends on July 24. The social media user with the best photo gets four tickets to the Sacramento zoo!
