ABC News correspondent returns home to lend a helping hand

All week on ABC10 Morning Blend, we've been talking about ways you can help our community this holiday season, and a familiar face is back home in Sacramento to lend a hand.

Adrienne Bankert, an ABC News correspondent and occasional host for "Good Morning America” is teaming up with Sacramento Helping Hands, a foundation that promotes the arts, and they're putting on a musical called "A Time for Christmas." It's about imaginative adventure through more than 2,000 Christmases of hope and changed lives. Bankert spent some time at local radio stations to spread the word.

“What I love about this nonprofit, Sacramento Helping Hands, is that their goal is to take a child who may not be exposed to that kind of experience, that formalized training, and to give them the opportunity to shine," Bankert said. “where they don’t have to compete but they’re able to develop their gifts and talents inside of them.”

If you go to the play, your money will go toward the Mercy San Juan Medical Center Guild. For ticket information, visit sachelpinghands.org.
