For the second time in four seasons the Folsom Bulldogs will compete for a CIF State Football Championship.
Unbeaten Folsom played host to Central-Fresno in the Division 1-AA NorCal Regional Bowl game and came out victorious with a 54-35 win. The Bulldogs will return to Sacramento State on Friday, December 15, for an 8 p.m. kickoff against the SoCal champion Helix-La Mesa.
The Placer Hillmen advance to their first State Championship game since 1980 after winning an overtime thriller in Salinas. Placer claims the Division 4-AA NorCal Regional Championship with a 43-42 win and will face the winner of the El Camino vs. Crenshaw matchup in the South Region on Saturday, December 16, at 6 p.m. The site for the 4-AA State Championship game has yet to be decided.
In Division 5-AA, a rematch from last year between McClymonds-Oakland and East Nicolaus. The Spartans were looking for revenge on Friday night but come up short in a 35-12 loss, their first of the season. East Nicolaus finishes the season with a 13-1 record.
