AMBER ALERT children found; parents still at large

The California Highway Patrol says an Amber Alert issued for four children allegedly taken by their biological parents last Friday has been canceled.

The children, Enrique, Justin, Veronica and Janeth Felix, ages 7 to 1, were located near the U.S.-Mexico border in California Tuesday, several Southern California media outlets reported.

Authorities were still looking for the parents, Enrique Felix, 28, and Rose Chairez, 28. The children were taken from their maternal grandmother where they were being cared for because of allegations of child abuse on the part of the parents, KABC-TV reported.

Felix and Chairez, described as Hispanic, were believed to be driving a dark colored, possibly gray or purple, Chrysler PT Cruiser with paper plates and a missing hub cap.

Any with information about the suspects' whereabouts was urged to call 911 or the Los Angeles Police Department at (323) 342-4101.
