Arrests made in 1 of 2 fatal Stockton shootings

SACRAMENTO - Stockton police detectives are investigating two shootings, both of them fatal, that took place around the corner from each other Monday.

The first incident was in the HomeCrest Townhomes complex back parking lot on the 4800 block of Kentfield Drive at 10:39 a.m. Officer Joe Silva said officers found a 26-year-old man who had been shot. He was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Silva said the hospital emergency room where the man was taken was placed on lockdown for a time because arriving relatives of the man started causing a disturbance.

Monday night, detectives said they arrested two 19-year-old men, Bobby Sherell Miller and Kyren Nicodemus Nicholson,

in connection with the death of the Kentfield Drive victim.

Monday afternoon just before 2 p.m., officers were dispatched to a report of a man shot at 23 Gateway Court. Silva said the victim was taken to an area hospital but did not survive.

No names have been released.

Investigators were looking into whether the shootings were connected. Anyone with information is encouraged to call police at (209) 937-8377, CrimeStoppers
