California Highway Patrol investigators are looking into accusations of sexual misconduct within Cal Fire.
Meagan Fleming, the estranged wife of murder suspect Orville "Moe" Fleming, said CHP investigators interviewed her for several hours wanting to know more about what she saw on a sex video, which was allegedly recorded at the Cal Fire Academy in Ione.
Fleming claims the video shows firefighters having sex with a prostitute on a fire truck at the academy, while her husband watched from the background. She also said she knew of sex parties at a Madera Cal Fire station involving Orville Fleming and other firefighters.
Meagan Fleming said now was the time for her to come forward and report the firefighters' actions.
"I think the right thing needs to be done to clean up the issue so that so other families' children or whatever don't end up suffering like us," Meagan Fleming said.
Cal fire confirmed with News10 they asked CHP weeks ago to investigate the accusations of misconduct by Orville Fleming. They said if there was any wrong doing, they will take action.
On Tuesday, Orville Fleming made his second appearance in court, where he hired an attorney, but did not enter a plea. Orville Fleming is accused of stabbing and killing his girlfriend, 26-year-old Sarah Douglas. He went into hiding the day her body was found at her south Sacramento home and was arrested 16 days later. He faces a murder charge.
Meagan Fleming said last week Orville Fleming called her crying from behind bars.
"I said to him, 'You know, our community, our kids our family knows that he was the type of person that saved many many many lives,'" Meagan Fleming said. "This was just an isolated and unfortunate incident and he cried and cried and cried and said thank you."
