SACRAMENTO - A man accused of molesting two girls and trying to hire someone to kill one of the victims was convicted of multiple child sex abuse charges and enhancements by a Sacramento jury this week.
Manuel Perez was also found guilty of solicitation of murder, the Sacramento County District Attorney's Office announced.
District attorney spokesperson Shelly Orio said Perez was charged with molesting one girl from the time she was 5 to 15 years old and another girl when she was 6 to 7 years old.
After Perez was arrested in December 2012, the prosecution alleged he tried to hire a woman via his sister to kill one of his victims. The woman immediately informed authorities, sheriff's detectives said.
Perez faces a maximum sentence of 77 years to life in prison when he is sentenced June 27, Orio said.
