Man shot, killed during south Sacramento house party

An 18-year-old man was shot and killed at a south Sacramento home early Saturday morning.

Sacramento County sheriff's deputies said the man was pronounced dead at the scene. A second shooting victim in his late teens was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, Sgt. Lisa Bowman said. The victims' identities were not released.

The shooting happened at a home on the 5600 block of Sampson Boulevard just after 12 a.m. on Saturday. Bowman said there was a small party at the home when uninvited guests arrived. Party goers and the party crashers got into a confrontation, which escalated into a shooting.

Bowman said both victims were likely shot in the backyard of the home and were found nearby by deputies.
