Man shot, killed in Stockton

A man died of a gunshot wound in Stockton early Saturday morning.

The 52-year-old man was found in a car parked in the street near Lafayette and Union streets around 12:50 a.m., Stockton Police Officer Joe Silva said. When officers arrived at the scene, they transported the wounded man to a nearby hospital, where he later died.

Police did not release any other information about the victim or details surrounding the shooting.

Homicide detectives are investigating the case.
