Woodland teens arrested in Davis car theft

SACRAMENTO – Two teenage boys were arrested Sunday following a car theft in Davis.

Officers responded to a call of a car theft on the 1200 block of Halifax Ave. around 11:20 p.m. While en route, the officers spotted the stolen vehicle traveling on W. Covell Blvd., according to a Davis Police Dept. report.

The driver traveled north to Woodland where officers eventually stopped the vehicle near the intersection of Highway 99 and Country Road 25A. Two 16-year-old boys from Woodland were arrested at the scene, the police report detailed.

The driver of the vehicle was arrested for possessing a stolen vehicle and driving without a license.

The passenger was arrested for possessing a stolen vehicle and petty theft.

According to the report, additional property belonging to another victim of theft was located inside the stolen vehicle.

The driver was booked into Yolo County Juvenile Hall. The passenger was cited and released to an adult.
