Good Samaritan shot after stopping to help women

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – A Good Samaritan who stopped to help two women was robbed and shot, police said.

According to the Gwinnett County Police Department, two women flagged down the 41-year-old man in the area of Lawrenceville Highway and Davis Mill Court between noon and 1 p.m. Thursday.

The women, who acted as if they were in distress, lured the man behind a town home on Davis Mill Court, where he was confronted by at least three teens, police said.

One of the teens had a gun and demanded that the man empty his pockets. Right after that, the teen shot the man three times and fled, police said.

The victim was taken to Gwinnett Medical Center, and was listed in stable condition on Friday.

Authorities are working to identify the three teens as well as the two women.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 404-577-TIPS (8477).
