Alaska Airlines added three daily flights from Sacramento International Airport to San Diego International Airport.
The non-stop service started Thursday.
"These new routes will bring more options and low fares to our California customers, as well as creating new connections to key international business markets served by our partner carriers," Andrew Harrison, Alaska Airlines' Chief Commercial Officer, said in a prepared statement.
The flight times between Sacramento and San Diego are as follows:
While this is a new route for Alaska, Southwest Airlines also flies between Sacramento and San Diego, so it creates competition, according to Sacramento International Airport spokesman Mark Haneke.
