Amber Alert issued for infant abducted in Southern California

The California Highway Patrol issued an Amber Alert for a 1-month-old infant on behalf of the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department. 

Jefferson Gomes was abducted at 1 p.m. Friday from Fort Tejon. He is described as an Asian male, weighing 12 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. He is believed to be wearing a navy blue onesie, according to police officials.

The suspect, Jeffrey Michael Gomes, is a 42-year-old Latino male, standing six-feet tall and weighing 207 pounds. He's believed to be wearing a grey long sleeve shirt, a grey hat, dark blue jeans. He's also believed to be armed and dangerous, according to police.

The suspect was last seen driving a 2007 white Chevy 2500 pickup with the California license plate number 02390P1.

The Amber Alert is in effect in Los Angeles, Kern, Kings, Tulare and Fresno counties.
