Starbucks revealed its plans sometime back to begin selling beer and wine at select locations. It now appears the Midtown section of Sacramento could be home to one of those locations.
According to the Sacramento Business Journal, the Starbucks Coffee shop near 16th and K Street is currently hiring people who are over age 21 for the Starbucks Evening program. However, a spokesperson for Starbucks told the Sacramento Journal it's too early to tell which stores will be getting the new service, and that they don't have any immediate plans to expand the program to Sacramento.
With Starbucks Evenings, the store remains a coffee spot during the day and transitions to sales of beer and wine, along with a menu of small plates and appetizers after 4 p.m.
The evenings program has expanded to 27 locations including Seattle, LA, Chicago, Atlanta, and Portland since launching.
Some of the food items on the menu for Starbucks Evenings include crusted chicken skewers, truffle macaroni and cheese, and chicken sausage flatbread.
According to the Journal, when the Starbucks opened near 16th and K last year, employees at that time said the store was a candidate for beer and wine service.
